De Waterkant Cottages - Cape Town Accommodation - Our dealings with them was not too shabby!
Every now and again we experience something amazing, but then again hotels in Cape Town can either be great or a disaster of a holiday.
This is for all service and hospitality members in South Africa, Hotels should always keep a respectful and friendly tone to customers, unlike De Waterkant Cottages in Cape Town we can not say that our experiance was in any way standard or fair. The man at reception was too busy to take our call, he "Had to run" and only conduct business through email which really felt like we were being shrugged off.
It is quite disappointing to see just how spoilt De Waterkant Cottages and its administration must be to allow such deterioration in business and culture.
De Waterkant Cottages - Operating a hotel firstly requires respect and good attitude, good treatment from staff and especially treatment towards any other business, do you remember when you first started out, you worked hard for what you have however it seems to be a constant trend when owners are not involved in their business and put individuals in charge who frankly do not care or at least do not give any feeling that they care, even worse, when the owner gives a directive that is two faced and is still stuck in the "Email me first era".
De Waterkant Cottages a good place to start is being genuine, have humility, and treat everyone with the same way you would treat your most honrable guests, this in itself was the most frustrating and anger boiling moment, getting treated like a homless man walking into a 5 star hotel, being rude and masking it under the pretence of professionalism is the most disingenuous and typical money over quality attitude that one can not help but insinuate with such none personal treatment, much adjustment is reccomended to create positive experiances for both potential clients as well as businesses.Holiday makers of Cape Town, be weary with this one, my experience off the bat was off at De Waterkant Cottages, usually this is a big red flag, they may have had good reviews in the past but its about first impressions and they last, what a bitter taste and aweful conversations, I truly hope they can change their ways - De Waterkant Cottages - Cape Town deserves better.
It's time to change 25 years of doing things via email to realising that building relationships should not strictly be via email, adapt with the times and reap the results you deserve.
